Relief Awaits Us
As we wade into the "dog days of August" and the inevitable increase in political ads, relief awaits us in coverage of the Olympics, followed immediately by the beginning of football season. Fall has replaced Spring as the time when hope springs eternal in the hearts of sports fans. Baseball's spring training used to be the primary pool of optimism from which fans of perpetual losing teams drank for renewed resolve(Major league baseball cut its own throat, but that's a subject for another day). Today, football, whether high school, college or pro, reigns as king. Regardless of the sport, though, beginning of a new season brings prospects for success in the hearts of fans of every team. And, whether a sports fan or not, you've got to admit that the Olympics and football can go along way toward giving us a needed break from the August heat and babbling political pundits." Go Sooners, Cowboys, Panthers and Team USA!

It's great to see you're in fine form and unfortunately I'm one of the choir and some of our liberal family members need to be reading your blogs and having a one sided debate with you, (one-sided because you are factually and historically correct and they have "feelings" to back up their side)Of course those who are left-brain thinkers (artistic) are unable to be logical and analylical and instead have feelings and their feelings (at that time and in each new circumstance) are the only ones that are valid-we right brain thinkers who can plainly see the damage that has been happening for the past 40 some years have an uphill struggle of enormous magnitude to correct the situation as more and more idiots are coming out of our educational system and because that aren't smart enough to reason, join the left-it's easy to not educate yourself about anything. To me, it is imperative to start the fight to take back our country or we're going to lose it. Okay, send more wonderful reading material, I love to get my blood boiling in the good way your words make it boil.
